Pizza with ham and mushroom

Many of my readers search for pizza on my site, so I consider it’s time to bake one. Of course, I’ve already planned it, but when I saw the search results, I didn’t postpone it any more. I venture to suggest this dough recipe, it works for me and the topping is up to your mood.

Ingredients:

  • 300 g flour
  • 200 ml warm water, 40-45°C
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 3/4 tsp salt

Mix together the dry ingredients, add the water and oil, then start to mush them together with a wooden spoon. When it comes together, slightly sticky, knead the dough more by hand on floured surface. Meanwhile sprinkle the dough surface with flour more times if needed. The dough should be elastic and tacky, but should not be stick on your hand. Thinly oil the bottom of a bowl with olive oil, put the dough into, cover with a kitchen clothes and leaven it on a warm place for 1-2 hours, till the dough comes double size. Pin out the dough to 4-5mm thickness on floured surface. So you will get a 34 cm diameter or if you separate the dough into two equal piece you will get two smaller pizza, approx. 23 cm. The essential point is the thin dough. Finally you need to add the toppings and bake.

For the toppings I made a tomato base, by mixing canned tomato puree (150 g) with 2-3 cloves sliced garlic and mom’s home made ketchup (100-200 ml, which I’d like to share with you later since the way she makes it, is incredibly tasty). For sure you can use regular ketchup as well. Seasoned with salt and pepper. I spread this tomato base through the dough, put some ham (100 g), sliced mushroom (100 g), chopped mozzarella cheese (200 g) and cherry tomatoes. Finally I put eggs on it and fresh basil leaves. Preheat the oven well to 240°C, so the pizza can bake within 10-15 min. Serve freshly and hot.
